I’m Yosub Shin — a PhD student at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and an NSF CSGrad4US fellow, currently based in the Bay Area. I build and evaluate robot-learning systems on cheap hardware; this site is the field notes. Before the PhD I was a software engineer at Samsara (NYSE: IOT) and at Scenery (acquired by Adobe).

Experiments, tools, and full logs behind the posts live at github.com/YosubShin/lerobot_alohamini.

Publications, competition results, and selected projects are on the research page, along with a resume (PDF).

I’m currently open to research and engineering roles in robot learning — the fastest way to reach me is LinkedIn.
